Jun 20 - Even though there hasn’t been any official announcement made yet the latest version of wordpress can be found in the downloads archive, for a direct link for the zip file you have it right here: http://wordpress.org/wordpress-2.2.1.zip Why upgrade? There was a remote SQL injection exploit going on as can be seen in this report on 2.2: http://trac.wordpress.org/ticket/4357 Better fix [...] »

Rapidly growing

May 31 - RO2Info - Ragnarok II Portal, a community for the game Rangarok Online 2 on which I am an administrator has been rapidly expanding as of recently. The launch of the public Korean beta probably plays an important role in this, but also we have been submitting articles to other communities to get additional publicity which [...] »

Omg, total menace at myLot

May 24 - I must say it’s quite funny, apparently last night over at myLot all ratings got adjusted, myself I dropped from a boring red star with a 9 in it to this cool, golden star with an 8 in it. I can’t really care about it though whether it’d be a glitch or not, but all [...] »

Changes coming fast

May 14 - Work on RO2-Info which I mentioned recently is starting to pay off, we have switched to a better looking theme and are currently in the process of customizing it for our needs. We have some nice plans on how to get the community more involved as well so that should probably draw some extra people. Ragnarok [...] »

Blog Talkers #20

May 13 - Another Blog Talkers has arrived, a bit in the theme of mother’s day I suppose ;). Answering will probably be rather short, hehe. How did your mother spend her day? Did she have a job or do volunteer work outside the home? How did her outside commitments affect your family? How did they affect you? How did [...] »

Late nights

May 13 - It currently is nearly 3:30 AM in the morning, pretty much a late night you could say. Have been doing some work on a Ragnarok Online 2 fansite on which I’m an administrator, this has been taking up some time but progress is definitely being made I must say. The databases are getting quite ready [...] »

MyLot, yep I’ve signed up

May 05 - Recently I have signed up on myLot. I used to browse by every now and then in the past but it wasn’t all too active back then yet, now with nearly 100.000 members signed up though it is a lot more active… and as much I love discussing on forums I simply couldn’t resist to [...] »

Moving on

Feb 27 - Today I have decided to shut down one of the communities I was still actively maintaining. I just didn’t have the time for it anymore, for the past couple of weeks I have already been thinking on doing so if not even longer as in my mind I was letting the community down. That resulted [...] »

“Want an explosion on blog traffic?”

Feb 21 - Wanting more traffic to your blog, or simply want an easy way to get in touch with new blogs? The blog rotation networks out there might just be your thing! But what exactly are these services, what kind of explosion will they generate in stats? I know of three major of these networks, namely Blog [...] »

A new XNA tutorial/open source site

Oct 12 - I have just come across this article on a blog named Dragonfire Games. One of the games currently being worked on by Donald Beals, part of Dragonfire Games is The lost city of Malathedra. An adventure game which finished part one of development recently according to the entry. It was also mentioned that alongside with a [...] »

XNA resource list

Oct 07 - I decided to create a listing of handy XNA resources together, both for personal reference and for comfort of readers which are interested in XNA game development as well. XNA Resources XNA Development exDream XNA Spot XNAtutorial TheZBuffer xbox360 Homebrew I’m sure there are more out there, but these were the first which popped up in my mind right now. If you are [...] »

Edonkey shut down!

Sep 13 - Another victim to the RIAA, this time it’s Edonkey, along other software versions as mentioned. Whether edonkey was used frequently, and perhaps mainly, for illegal resources it’s a shame to see that a network which could also be used for the sharing of legal resources got basically forced to shut down like this. According to court [...] »

Setting up dedicated server

Sep 03 - For the web aggregator I have been working on the webservice I was using is not sufficient enough, it requires too much resources if I would keep fetching the feeds through a fetcher file. Up untill around 100 files it was doable, but over 250 files it starts lasting over 10 minutes already and would [...] »

The history of the GUI

Aug 13 - An interesting blog entry I came across whilst browsing the web, it shows how the graphical aspect of 3 well known GUI’s have changed over the years, being Windows, Mac OS and KDE. You can find the entry on: http://r-101.blogspot.com/ »

The joy of web development

Aug 11 - The last week especially I have been really busy with an update I am doing for one of my sites, RO2-Database. I hope to release it by the first of september but there’s still some additional things to be created, bugs to possibly fix and address other issues. Along with that I’ll be going on a [...] »
