Archetypes? Oh you mean classes! I suppose it’s all in a name, but there are more differences in store for you. No healers, no tankers sum to sum up some of the differences for one.
As the predominant species us humans desire to be this is also reflected in Stargate Worlds by giving us Humans four separate archetypes to pick from according to the information currently known.
These archetypes include the styles which can be seen within Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis, namely soldiers, archaeologists, scientists and commandos. Each of the archetypes will have some very unique skill trees and specific traits at their disposal.
But of course also the Asgard, Jaffa and Goa’Uld which can be seen throughout the Stargate series are present within the game as well. Another great favorite being the Tok’Ra unfortunately will not be included as a playable archetype.
Soldier
Think O’Neill, not too smart when it comes to science or archeology but an asset within combat which simply can’t be left out. Their specialism lies with the efficient usage of a great variety of weaponry and thus offer the firepower any squad will need to battle off the opponents which will be encountered.
Archaeologist
For the stargate fans amongst us the name Daniel Jackson will instantly pop to mind, as a walking culture database with an extensive linguistic knowledge they are highly capable of blending in and gathering information for the squad.
But diplomacy and puzzle solving is not going to be the only thing what archaeologists will be good at, even in deadly encounters they will definitely be able to stand their man.
Scientist
The brains behind the squad, with not just the skills of a scientist but functioning more like Samantha Carter did within the show as an engineer this archetype will be able to figure out how found technology works and can be applied.
Commando
Specialized in stealth, marksmanship and demolitions this archetype will kill before the opponent even realized what hit him. They might have given up to the variety of weaponry which a soldier uses but heck, as a highly specialized unit like this the size of your gun simply does not matter.
By not just having the ability to deploy traps and move in stealth themselves but also detecting these they play a great strategic role within every squad.

Jaffa
Having been enslaved to the Goa’Uld for thousands of years the modern Jaffa have been split into two divisions. There are those which remained loyal to their Goa’Uld overlords and remain dependent on symbiotes for survival, but then there’s those who have began their fight for freedom alongside with the Asgard and Tauri and thanks to the aid of Tretonin have gotten the chance of leaving symbiotes behind them for good.
With their great numbers and formidable combat training both in close face to face staff as long distance ranged combat they pose a serious threat when you’re standing against them in the battlefield but a powerful ally when fighting along your side. Their great physical strength allows them to engage in combat even when injured and gives a good resistance against special attacks.
The statistics which a player shall have as a Jaffa will depend on whether they’re part of the loyal division of Jaffa or whether they’re free. It is said that there is no chance later on in the game to step over from loyal to free or vice versa.
