CNET has been going around for quite a number of years now with its yellow and green look. After more than 12 years with it though they have decided to give it a major revamp and change its color scheme.
Things are getting a certain 2008 feel to it in their new, improved look as they show it off in an entry on their blog. The combination of red, a light shade of blue, greyscales and white looks real stylishly placed together and it fits the technical feeling of the site.
Nothing to fancy, no grungy looks, no wood, no whatever else is to be considered as hot these days in the world of web design.
It does have a significant 2008 feeling to it though without much which really makes it stand out, as long as its new that’s not too bad but by 2010 CNET will probably still come with the same design and ended up looking a bit as just one of the hurde.
Of course the design is just a minor aspect of what CNET is all about in the end, I highly doubt the visitors would really care if the design looks original or not as long as they keep on providing them with quality news and reviews.
