Lord of the rings has been a major phenomenon in both the 20st century and the 21st century with over 50 million books of the trilogy sold, the movie attracting even more and numerous games created in legacy of Tolkien’s work.
Conquest is the latest product to be added to this collection. Presenting us with a game which for a change places the emphasis on big, epic battles as they could be seen in the movies plus several beyond that!
Lord of the Rings: Conquest isn’t going to be just your average LOTR game, having it released on both PC and consoles with exception the Wii it gives us an extensive singleplayer campaign and the possibility to be played with up to 4 people in split screen and as many as 16 online.
Whether the split screen will also be incorporated in the PC version is something I’m not sure about. Nintendo fans also do not have to worry with it not being released on the Wii, there’s a DS version in the make instead. Probably no splitscreen on that though, hehe.
Without further ado, here’s the trailer!

Yeh it hasn’t been getting much attention, not sure why. I happened to stumble across it totally by coincidence a while ago and at first thought it to be an expansion to lotro or so, but I was wrong :P.
By the looks of it this game might really bring forth one of the most interesting aspects from LOTR for a game.
