Knowing that BioWare was planning on creating an MMO has by now probably crossed the ears of every gamer, it’s not really something you can miss when such a company gives mention of something like that. As expected though we don’t have to keep our hopes up for it coming anytime soon though.
Recently it got announced that the game would be launched in the fiscal year of 2010, in human terms that’s simply the period between the first of April and 31st of March the year after.
With the game not coming any sooner than Q2 2010 and possibly even 2011 it’s not like we’re really going to have to start the wait already. The rumors on which setting the MMO will take have already begun though, personally I don’t expect BioWare to take any existing project for their MMO though but rather than that create a new setting specifically developed for the MMO.
Having such a major name work on an MMO and a date set along now as well does give quite some good promises for the genre, especially in regards to the RPG aspect of the games which usually tends to lack. BioWare having a strong background in the creation of RPG games simply can’t go wrong there.
