After a long match with no goals, strong defenses and great work of the goalkeeps on both sides it comes down to a penalty knockout.
The match itself was far from a surprise when it comes to Italy’s playing style, hard defenses which proved difficult for the Spanish to come by. Having brought to a penalty knockout the excitement was really placed within the last couple of minutes of the match.
Italy didn’t bring up the same luck within the penalty knockouts as it did in the past as Spain wins by 4-2. Sending Spain as the only team which ended up first in the group phase to the semi-finals.
