Marie Lindor has been one of the many victims from RIAA’s bullying strategies when in begin 2006 she got sued for supposedly having provided music over the internet. The charges got dropped, yet the RIAA doesn’t want to let go.
Although the RIAA acknowledges that they haven’t got sufficient evidence to prosecute Lindor for file sharing they have decided to throw it on destroying evidence and stalling the investigation.
Apparently according to the RIAA miss Lindor lied when she stated she didn’t have a computer in the house on the specific date the sharing occured, since her daughter was spending the night at her place then and did have a computer along with her.
Well I suppose it’s what you’d define as lying, if we interpret to have as possessing then Lindor didn’t do anything wrong, as it was her daughter who had a computer in the house since after all it wasn’t her property.
And supposedly they threw away the computer in last March, destruction of evidence the RIAA calls it. And of course the department of justice just lets people keep the evidence in hand, “Oh you commited this murder? Mmm, can you hold on to the gun for the time being?”. They had time enough to pick the computer up if wanted as evidence, they didn’t.
As it turned about 4 years at minimum what stops them from throwing it away, perhaps it’ll even find a better life recycled into Africa.
The RIAA failed, yet still they’re trying everything they can to get their money back from random citizens like this. Let me guess, their albums of last year weren’t of quality enough so they didn’t meet their desired profits?
