Lamborghini police cars, the ultimate toy

Last touched on Sunday, Jun 15, 2008

Various countries have a Lamborghini available to the police, now what better weapon to use in high speed car chases than a beast like that! Does your country have one yet?

Now these are the type of police cars you probably do not see come by every day, yet more and more countries are adding these sort of lean, mean speed machines to their arsenal of police vehicles.

Italy

England

South Korea

Belgium

Netherlands

Obviously our police force couldn’t stay behind and has cranked up their arsenal with a good amount of horse power as well! We’re ready for the 21st century, are you?

Discussion on this Article

  1. Ah, that must be a crime, colouring the Lamborghinis like that. It hurts my eyes looking at them…

  2. True to that, the Belgian one is the only one which remained remotely stylish but definitely the British police Lamborghini totally lost it’s style.

  3. Photoshopped

  4. I have been waiting for such a comment…

Maybe you should do some research before saying a picture got photoshopped. A Google Search on this topic brings you interesting links like one for Italy or a section on the Lamborghini Gallardo Wikipedia page.

Anyway, I wish we had one of those here in Germany. I bet I’d try to become a police officer, just to get a chance to drive it :)

  5. I was actually surprised when trying to find other European countries asides from Belgium, Italy and the UK who would have such a speed machine not to find Germany having one.

I’m not sure how legal in reality it is but Germany is sort of known here for having roads with practically no speed limit, would expect them to have at least one car which could keep up with that as well.

Or perhaps Germany is just sort of like the Netherlands, yeh in reality we got more than horses XD. We have a “fast” cop car provided by Dutch car manufacturer Spyker, perhaps Germany has some speedy Mercedes cop cars or so. Still, neither of those have the style of a Lamborghini, haha.

  6. You’re right slevi! [Fellow dutch I presume?]
Our Spykers are good and original.
I think our german neighbours have a mercedes as a fast-cop-car.

  7. if I’m not wrong we got Mercedes and/or BMW as fast police cars. Not sure as I’m a bit influenced my TV series which use BMW as police cars.

About the Lamborghinis, those were given as gifts to those countries, maybe we just had no luck to be one of the countries which get a Lambo :)

  8. @shadyness: Indeed, Dutch. Agreed that our Spykers indeed are original, although I must say that when it comes to style Lamborghini definitely ranks up higher for me than Spyker.

Whereas the Lamborghini Gallardo cries success, speed and elegance the Spyker C8 for me more cries mid-life crisis :P.

  9. @Marco: Hehe, well at least one thing is for certain it’s not Volkswagen ;).

  10. Germany has Porsches for police cars. at least they did in the late 70’s when i was there in high school

  11. I wouldn’t agree Slevi, I think the Spyker is a magnificent looking car. I didn’t realise you used them as police cars in Holland. Does anyone else think the Italian police Lambo looks pretty cool? It looks better in real life though.

  12. Spyker does have some fancy looking cars like for example the Spyker C12 Zagato, but they have got quite a couple of models as well which are more like “mwuah”, nothing special. For example the C8 Spyder as used for the police car.

    Here’s an image of it:

    Compared to the Zagato:

  13. The English murcielago has a private number plate on it! Its been on TV and posters without the police decals a few times. It’s not photoshopped but it’s definately not a real police car. They did use to have an Jaguar XJ220 a few years ago though.

  14. The UK one was a promotional vehicle and was decorated for a media event. It is not owned by the police

  15. That last paragraph of the article would have been funnier before the horse pic… just sayin.

  16. Thanks for the tip stevenoranovich, giving it a second look I think you’re right :-).

Have your say

Like many others I'm a slave to modern society dominated by mass media, I can be hooked on the latest series for months without missing a single episode or simply having to see a certain movie.

And if you thought music wouldn't be included there, you're dead wrong! Practically non stop I listen to music from various artists, I just can't stand the silence anymore.
