The last week has been quite a busy week, pretty much all is rounding up as we’re heading towards the presentation already next week. Luckily we’re well on schedule and the presentation itself has been as good as finished, so no stress on that. I’m glad on one hand that we worked more on the presentation in the past weeks along rather than just seeing stuff in the hospital since it definitely saves us from quite a headache this weekend.
For the first time in my life I also got the chance to attend an operation, the experience is just indescribable. If for some reason you’d ever get the chance, go for it. Although unless you’re a med student or student in a nursery school I don’t think the odds of it happening will be high.
It’s awesome to see though what surgeons are capable of, of course I knew that they could do it up front but when actually seeing it happening it just amazes you. With such skill and precision they do their work whilst the life of the patient is truly hanging in their hands.
There’s just one last thing which we’re going to see during this internship, an exercise toleration test. Since it just happens on Friday’s we couldn’t do it any sooner than tomorrow, but after that we’ve seen pretty much every aspect of pediatric cardiology.
On a different note, I passed my previous exam! Even though it was quite difficult to make I’m happy to see I passed it, better now than in the summer holidays after all.
