notebook-ideas Ever had one of those great ideas which you just knew you should have done, but simply forgotten it? In example you were walking, simply walking, towards the grocery store and this wonderful idea popped into your mind but the moment you came home… the idea was gone, no matter how hard you try to recall it it appears to be lost forever.

Many of us will probably be able to relate to that, and it’s a shame since who knows what sort of greatness could have came out of those ideas. Not just for bloggers but all forms of creative work this sort of creative thinking up front can be a great inspirational resource, so isn’t it time to keep it with you?

If you’re simply bursting with ideas already as it is, having a constant flow of new things popping into your mind and you can’t even finish one thing without having the urge to start on the next then forgetting some shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

Unfortunately these sort of waves of ideas usually don’t remain with you for all too long, wherever you look around you will see people running out of ideas for a while. Whether it is writers suffering from a writers block or artists not being able to put a line on the paper anymore, it happens even to the best.

The solution to this issue is is simple, but effective. Just write your ideas down, take along a little notebook with you and make notes of those ideas popping into your mind. If you see something interesting, make some quick notes about it or make a quick sketch. Give yourself the opportunity to use those ideas at a later moment rather than letting them fade away.

  2. Yep, I keep these little 4×6 pads of paper (like mini yellow pads) laying around my apartment. Just to grab inspiration when it happens. I have an inbox that I just stack them in and after a while I scan these sheets into my computer and go through revising what’s a keeper and what isn’t.

Ultimately, just the act of writing it down, helps you solidify the thought whether it’s worth acting on or not.

I mean, let’s be frank, ideas are cheap (everyone has ‘em), it’s action that requires effort.

Have your say

Like many others I'm a slave to modern society dominated by mass media, I can be hooked on the latest series for months without missing a single episode or simply having to see a certain movie.

And if you thought music wouldn't be included there, you're dead wrong! Practically non stop I listen to music from various artists, I just can't stand the silence anymore.
