Rather than the blog talkers which can be seen here on the usual Sundays it’s going to be a little bit different this week. Since I already did this weeks blog talkers along last week I ended up having this day open to write on something else.
There’s a million things which I could probably pick and write about, but I thought it’d be nice to give a minor evaluation of what happened so far since Slevi got redesigned. The change has been pretty big and the response towards this tended to be quite positive, although there’s still a lot planned on how to give it more content it’s gotten of with a really good start if I might say so.
First of all an obvious increase was noticeable within the amount of comments which I received, from the usual comment every couple of days I suddenly went to around 40 comments within a week nearly. Although it’s still low compared to some blogs, for me it’s a definite rise. Since I really enjoy reading the comments of people it’s one of those factors which makes you decide to keep on going with what you’re doing.
For those which love figures, it pretty much means that I went from about 200 comments within the first 13 months of this blog towards well over 270 comments in about two weeks after the redesign.
Asides from the huge increase in comments there’s also been a climb in the amount of visitors, with exception of a couple of peaks in it thanks to being stumbled you can say that my daily visitor count has as good as doubled. Now averaging on around 600 it’s definitely a number which I never truly suspected this blog to reach, but also not something to stop with of course. Aiming for more is something which I’ll always keep doing and as long as the visitors enjoy reading what I write in the meantime there’s nothing wrong with it, right?
Something which has been a first within this period as well has been being stumbled, it’s actually the first time this has happened to this blog and the effect has been quite big. Nearly tripling the average amount of hits, in actual visits it wasn’t that big of a difference compared to now but still it has been about 300~200 visitors extra for a period of two days.
There’s quite a couple of things I still have in mind though on what the future for Slevi will bring, unfortunately live is sort of busy so it’s going to take a little while to start off with. I’m also experimenting a bit with a change in articles compared to the lot I published before, so far the result has been quite good I must say and asides from the increase of comments to them I’m actually also seeing an increase on the incoming hits through search engines.
All in all I must say that I’m definitely happy to see what happened after the redesign, I’ll be trying to keep things going even better of course and continue on experimenting like I’ve been doing most of the time with this blog. So definitely don’t forget to check back from time to time and see what’s going on!

great to hear that things are running smooth for you.
I don’t know, I’d say I’d visited your blog more often if I had learned about it earlier…
Well, I really like your articles so far, especially the tutorial ones
Keep it up!

Thanks Marco :), I must say that before the redesign I wasn’t really active in getting the existence of my blog out so it was quite a challenge to get to know it in the first place.
As far as time allows me currently though I’m trying to change that, a great challenge so let’s hope I can keep it running smoothly :).

same here, I redesigned my blog and started to get more active. Unfortunately real life keeps me busy and I had no time to post anything lately
