It has been 4 weeks since I made my last exam yet still the corrections aren’t in. Today they decided to post up apologies for the delay again yet it is the same story over and over, if I’m not mistaking it has been just twice that they actually had them on time. Especially after they went correcting the tests by computer to speed up the process it’s just unimaginable what they are currently doing by taking so much time.
Next week classes will also be starting for a period I still had to retake from last year, luckily it’s just for 3 weeks so can’t wait to get it done with. One thing is for sure and that’s that I’ll be having to pass this period this time otherwise it’ll be my last chance during summer holidays, but I have good faith in it.
On a completely different note Naruto Shippuden has started airing this week. Setting off 1.5 years after Naruto left off this means the end of the worthless fillers which were to be seen in the original Naruto anime ever since episode 140 or something.
Especially the first minutes of the double episode released this week were a great watch, but it was a shame though that was over so quickly. During the rest of the episode a lot of stuff was pretty useless if you ask me, including telling about the length Naruto and Sakura have grown which is pretty much useless information.
In the end though it became quite interesting as they were about to begin a battle to prove their training with an old friend of theirs, Kakashi. Will Naruto and Sakura get through with Kakashi now he’ll be fighting seriously as well?
We’ll have to wait till 22nd of February though to see “The results of training”, so a couple of days to go. Without a doubt though they’ll probably kick Kakashi’s ass or be quite equal of opponents.
The new series though looks quite promising, even though the opening theme definitely sucks big time. It’s one of the crappiest opening scenes I have ever come across in anime if you ask me :P.
The modeling in Maya is going nicely as well, I have been playing around with the spitfire a bit more and will be continuing on it again tonight starting with the 5th episode in the tutorial out of 12. So many details which I still have to work on before the spitfire will actually be finished. I must admit that before I never realized how time consuming this can be, even with the models still being so simplistic they easily take up a couple of hours till a day to make already. Seeing some work from other people over the net I’m no longer surprised with some models taking 6 months ~ a year to complete, especially with the amount of detail they bring in to it.
Seeing results in the Gnomon monthly challenges on their forums and CG Society challenges definitely blows my mind away, the amount of quality they place into it is something I hope to be able to achieve if even just a minor 10% off one day, absolute masterpieces.
As slowly I begin to do more of it myself I am also noticing how I begin searching for it more on the net, seeing how other people are doing their things and perhaps having tips. Throughout the many 3D communities which are out there I have definitely picked up quite a nice amount of them, but not just 3D communities also the traditional media and 2D CG communities bring in a nice amount of inspiration which perhaps one day can be realized.
So much to do, so little time…
