It took a couple days, but the modeling part of our lab has been finished up. The scientist isn’t present though, in the Simply Maya tutorial it just got stuck in out of the session so no explanation given on how to create it or reference material given to create it off yourself. Still it looks like quite a nice scene and it’ll be nice texturing it. Now let’s have a look at the progress made.

Our creature has been covered up from the rest of the world, gives it a bit more feeling as now it’s totally unsure on what exactly lies under there. Judging by the feet and chest though it must be a big creature!

Our creature had to be secured, we nearly completely forget about that but it wasn’t too late yet. It’s securely locked onto the table now though so no way this thing will be moving without us wanting it.

Working up some final details and having hooked up the tubes connecting our character we are nearly ready to go for texturing!

Having included some lighting from different points we have given our scene a different look. Although not all lighting looks completely perfect I’m quite pleased with it for lighting a first scene. Perhaps once I’ve done some tutorials on lighting and rendering I’ll completely revise this statement, but for now I’m happy and ready to go texture this thing!
