One of the older discs from The Gnomon Workshop I think, it is a nice disc covering not only polygon modeling, but also nurbs, sub-divs, curves, etc. In the tutorial a glass was shown on how to be easily created by resolving a curve, but because I found a glass rather boring I decided to do a chess piece. So behold, my pawn!

Isn’t it just the most realistic pawn you’ve ever seen? If so… you should definitely try playing chess once, it’s fun. The disc is being quite informative, going through stuff I’ve never covered before. When modeling a pawn before I probably would have started out with a sphere or a cylinder or something I think, this definitely speeds things up a bit.
