Installing the medion scanner works on neither windows 2003 nor the new windows vista. The drivers simply aren’t compatible and result in either nothing or system crashes on attempt to use the scanner, after having to install the entire thing even manually because there isn’t even support in the installation files for those OS’.
It really is one of the cheapiest and trashiest hardware companies around, but well yeh, guess that’s why they sell their stuff at the Aldi :). Let’s work around all the crap now and set up a virtual installation of windows XP simply to being able to scan, hope to have this done later on today so I could scan in the work I’ve done so far.
Currently I have watched the first drawing manual of Vilppu in which gestures are being explained, I went somewhat further on drawing some gestures asides from just line-forms of the movement and shades forms. Some of it does look somewhat nice, although a lot ended up out of proportion and such, but well yeh, I’m just starting out again so not too bad.
The next lecture will be about spherical forms which are along with box forms and cylindrical forms the basic forms using in drawing organisms loosely. I do have some experience with drawing like that thanks to art classes on high school and simply having drawn some in the past, but it’ll be an interesting watch and nice to continue on learning how to draw better and better.
Since I have finished work in the home as well this means I have more time on my hands again, this’ll be a nice way to practise more.
