Whilst watching the movie “Renaissance Man“, a comedy with Danny De Vito who after being fired starts to give classes about shakespeare in the army, I am drawing more and more sketches to be used for later reference. As I am doing that I am actually starting to like it, something which I could not have foreseen before. Drawing has never been my strongest point but I am definately starting to learn more and more. It’s been around a month or 6 ago that I started to draw somewhat more seriously now and I’m starting to get the hang of it more and more.
It’s nice to see how a lot just falls nicely into place as you start to understand the basic anatomy more and more. Partially I think it is due to my study in medicine as well that I am getting a better image of the human body, it definately helps. Although I haven’t had a lot of anatomy yet a couple of basics have been done and you do get to see a lot of images of the human body and shapes, all of these do aid in the process.
Another great source of inspiration has always been conceptart.org, on the forums a lot of people submit their personal work and a lot of this and the comments of other artists on it can be learned. Both for inspiration on things as just basics it is definately the number 1 resource online if you ask me.
