After working on some sketches and showing some early visualizations to a friend he was surprised as to how it was supposed to be fantasy, since there were some futuristic sketches amongst them. People just tend to forget that fantasy does not have to take place in a medieval setting, Star Wars probably is one of the most popular examples of this.
I am not planning to give it a full futuristic look to it, but more like different worlds which are in different stages of technical development giving the player the experience of discovering new worlds and different lifeforms, both peacefully as ofcourse opposing major threats.
To begin with I’m first creating these rough sketches which help me on visualizing these different worlds and societies, once I have a global coverage of rough sketches I will be taking the best and digitalizing them, being able to use them somewhat as a reference point for once I begin bringing it into a 3D environment by modelling the buildings, creatures, characters, plants, etc.
Starting small will be the key here though and that will exactly how it will be done, just in order to get out the feeling of the game at first before it will expand into a real game.
