Yesterday I checked out the “From speedpainting to concept art” DVD by the Gnomon workshop a bit and I must say this is absolutely awesome! Although I haven’t checked all of it yet and I have sort of a handicap seeing as to how I do not have a tablet, I gave it a go and was able to achieve things in photoshop I could never have even dreamed of before. And although it didn’t look perfect or anything, it was a major achievement for myself and it definately starts to make you realise that in the end it’s not all that hard at all.
It’s like seeing Bob Ross paint, if you just see his end work it’s like “Wow! How does he do that?!”, but if you see him creating it it all becomes so much easier and some practise will allow you to do it like that as well.
